I seem to have had a lot of invitations lately which is great. I suppose it is because I have kept in touch with a lot of people that I went to school with and we are all having our 30th birthdays this year. I have had a few party invitations and expect to get quite a few more and a lot of people have said that they would like to have a party to celebrate. Some people have parties every year anyway and others are using their age as an excuse to have a really good party. I have decided not to have one and will therefore not be sending out birthday invitations. I would rather forget about my age and hope that if I do nothing, I will be able to pretend, at least to myself, that I am not that old yet. Of course my friends know when my birthday is and so they are likely to mention it and I may go out for a meal or drink with them, if they twist my arm but nothing more than that. Perhaps if I was not going to any other parties I would have done one but I will have to buy a lot of new outfits anyway and even that expense will be quite a lot.
